Early Treatment, and what Dr. Gibbs has been saying all along
Friday, December 3rd, 2010
In your consultation, you may have hear Dr. Gibbs say that not every child needs a phase 1 treatment, that not every child that walks in the front door needs a full analysis, and some sort of treatment. We recently read this article in the Wall Street Journal, check it out in case you missed it!
Wall Street Journal “The 8-Year-Old With a Perfect Smile”
Not every child that comes to our office needs a palatal expander, or a phase 1A or 1B, when it is not totally necessary and everything can be done in one phase. Dr. Gibbs’ approach is very conservative and evidence-based, and could save patients thousands of dollars. He tells us he is running a business, but to him it’s still an orthodontic practice first and foremost. He likes to say that he is conservatively aggressive when it comes to treatment so when a child needs a phase 1 of treatment, they really do need it! We believe this honest approach is why families really put their trust in Dr. Gibbs. And of course he always gets great results!
